Puppies found floating in river make amazing recovery

UXBRIDGE, MA (WPRI/CNN) - On Sunday, two kayakers making their way down Blackstone River in Uxbridge heard whimpering coming from a bag in the water. The bag was tied shut, with six puppies inside. Kevin Sullivan, a regional animal control officer, said that they were "very sweet dogs." Sullivan said the runt of the litter was in the worst shape. "He actually had quite of bit of water in his lungs," Said Sullivan. "Up until this morning, he was still pushing mud out of his nose." All six puppies are doing much better, according to Sullivan. Uxbridge police said their focus is on who did this to the puppies. "It's unconscionable," said Chief Jeffrey Lourie.
